GULISTAN *goo-li-stahn* means "flower garden" in both Persian and Uzbek and is a fitting name for this unique ensemble's captivating repertoire. Founded in 1999 by Los Angeles-based dancer and choreographer Carolyn Krueger, GULISTAN presents both TRADITIONAL and IMAGINATIVE dances rooted in the cultures of the Central Asian Silk Road and the Middle East.

GULISTAN's concerts feature a talented ensemble of highly-trained and versatile dancers attired in dazzling authentic and original costumes. The dances are accompanied by folk, classical and contemporary music and enhanced by enchanting masks, props and storytelling.
